The 1% cost-of-living increase that took affect January 1, 2014 also increased Executive Level pay which results in an increase in the pay cap for GS employees from $155,500 to $157,100. The maximum pay for members of the Senior Executive Service increases to $181,500 for agencies with certified SES Performance Appraisal Systems. While the December 2013 budget deal restored some of the non-defense budget cuts that were to take affect for FY 2014, over 70% of the cuts will still go into affect. Congress is now working on how those cuts will be allocated by agency. As soon as the agency budgets are finalized, FPA will be updating the amounts and working to determine what the effects will be on federal health and medical programs.
The budget deal provides $31.5 billion in relief to DOD over two years from the earlier planned cuts.
